The Nigerian Baptist Convention has promised to begin building campus churches at tertiary institutions across the country to boost the presence of the Baptist Students Fellowship (BSF).
The President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. David Olusola Idowu disclosed this during the 46th Annual Congress of the Men's Missionary Union held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Rev Idowu stated that the Convention will collaborate with local churches, individuals, and organizations to partner in building Baptist churches on university and college campuses.
“The Convention aims to have a minimum of ten functional campus churches established by 2027.
“The initiative will support the Baptist Students Fellowship to fulfill its foundational mandate and core objectives.
The President urged members of the Baptist family to support the effort to ensure that students are exposed to godliness and reflect Christlike character.
Rev. Idowu emphasized that students need to be grounded and sustained through Scripture to make a positive impact on society.
